Rahane's 20: How an India "A - team" Ajinxed the Australians

Image
F or cricket fans, last week has been a rollercoaster, to say the least. The Border-Gavaskar series was poised at a precarious position on the final day. Both teams shared a win from the first two matches, and the third test went for an anti-climatic draw. The Indian (A) team's heroics on the final day with the magnificent batting from "5-innings old" Gill and Pant, along with support from every single player, was simply astounding to watch. Winning the series in the final hour of the final day of the final test indeed felt surreal. To properly give justice to their achievement, we have to look beyond the scoreboards and results because this win was not just for the record books; it was for the soul of Indian Cricket. Just a stock image of an aesthetic red cherry. Photo by Jurie Maree from Pexels The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is a prestigious test series for Indian Cricket (some say the most), especially Down Under. Australia had never lost a series against India at home...

Bis-kut

Image
No, I refuse to spell it as "biscuit". You only get the emotion when you say bis-kut.  Without it, all evening snacks would be... I don't know what to say, I have never had just plain chai.... ever. Let's just say it is blasphemous to do so. Their coupling would topple the popularity of Viruksha, easily. (Although, not as cute) Saath janam taak ek saath But you can have bis-kut alone, any time of the day, anywhere in the world. It is sort of a universal food, (kind of like Maggi) and it takes no effort to make... because it is pre-baked. But unfortunately, they don't possess the power (or the nutritional value tbh) to be a meal (if you brave enough, it can be, not advised). I once had one entire packet of bis-kuts for dinner because there wasn't good food in the mess... My stomach disagreed with the choice of food, and a few hours later gave me a piece of its mind. My stomach after gulping 2 packets of dry mari-gold There is a clear cut met...

Soft Drinks

Image
A concoction of diabetes in simple words. It does more harm than good. ( writes this while sipping KoKa Kola ). There is a lot of sugar and hypocrisy running in my blood right now. That is another blog altogether.  What is with the name "Soft drink"? It apparently comes from the fact that it has " low " alcoholic content. I have seen enough people get charged up by chugging 2-3 bottles of these " soft " drinks. But if you are updated with the current methods of this world, you'd know that " soft " drinks aren't kept soft anymore. They are now mixed with the so-called " not-so-soft " drinks to make the experience more " lively ".  Mandatory Star Wars meme (I should stop using quotations so much, it is not " funny ". Hehehe, okay. Last time. Seriously.) The advertising community of India seem to glorify soft drinks to totally another level. You would scratch your head and might say "Di...
